The Archive and Library of the Swiss Mennonite Conference (ALCMS) carefully archives bibles, documents and other objects deposited at the Jeangui chapel witnessing to more than four centuries of Anabaptist history.

In 2025, we celebrate 500 years of the Anabaptist movement with a series of events:
- 500th anniversary exhibition at Jeanguisboden by the Anabaptist Heritage Foundation, May 10 to November 2.
- Archives open house on May 21, June 21 and September 21.
- Guided tours of the Archives around the May 29 festivities in Zurich.
For a detailed history of the CMS Archive, please consult the Handbuch der historischen Buchbestände in der Schweiz (an article on the ALCMS).
Here’s also an introduction to the life and work of Samuel Henri Geiser (in French), one of the founder of the Archive.

The ALCMS are administrated by the Archive Committee, a working group of the Conference of Mennonites in Switzerland (CMS). It is composed of Michel Ummel (President, Les Reusilles), Christine Gyger (Cashier, La Tanne), Nicolas Gerber (Secretary, Sonceboz-Sombeval), Ernest Geiser (Tavannes), Marianne Gerber (Mont-Tramelan) and Nelly Gerber (Tramelan).
